Fees for 2010 are $20 single or $30 for a Family membership. New for 2010 will be a decal for your vehicle and special discounts from sponsors (details to follow!)

Prairie Shark 2 Mile Swim

Saturday March 21, 2009 – Mel & Ed’s 28th annual 2 mile swim sponsored jointly by the Springfield Prairie Sharks, YMCA and S.U.S.A. Swim Club.

TIME: Warm ups start at 11:30 a.m. —the first heat will enter at 12:00 p.m. You will be contacted the week of 3/16 and informed of your heat assignment.

PLACE: Eisenhower Pool, 2351 Cornell St. adjacent to Southeast High School at the corner of Taylor and Ash, 217-525-8847

EVENT: The 28th Annual 2 MILES SWIM will be 3,300 yards or 132 lengths. The six fastest will be seeded in heat #1, one person to a lane. EACH SWIMMER IS RESPONSSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN TIMER/COUNTER. After heat #1 swimmers may be placed two-to-a-lane. ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 54 RECEIVED. DECK ENTRIES ALLOWED IF LANES AVAILABLE.

SOCIAL: Pizza & drinks, 6pm in back room at Bernie & Betty’s (B&B), 1101 S. Spring, $5 for swimmer and guests age 10+.
